Music Monday | Queen Bey

I have to confess something I’m downright not proud of.

I never understood the hype surrounding Beyonce.

Don’ get me wrong. Loved Destiny's Child. Still do. I’m a product of my generation for sure and Bootylicious was the bad girl song of my middle school and I got down to it just like everyone else. But I pretty much stopped caring at about high school. In fact, I didn’t listen to pretty much anything recorded after 1995.

Long story short, I needed to see what the Queen Bey hype was all about for myself.

The Start

See, I haven’t really sought out her music since Single Ladies. And that was in 2008. So as you can imagine, I was quote behind.

I made it my mission this week to listen to all of the albums that I’ve missed since 2008 and added the songs I liked to this playlist.

Frankly speaking, I didn’t love everything. I found that Beyonce’s albums were a lot like Lady Gaga’s; there is always one or two songs I just don’t jive with.

But this is my findings.

And yeah, I totally get what all the hype is about.
